Composite Telecom Equipment Platforms

Sometimes the most difficult problems have the simplest solutions. Park Cities, TX, an city just north of Dallas, faced a multidimensional problem. The urban area had very limited cell service yet had to serve a large population. The area had limited options as to where a cell tower could be placed. The Highland Park United Methodist Church was strategically chosen due to its location on the SMU (Southern Methodist University) campus among various other aspects.

Why Your Winery Needs FRP

Posted by Brittany Fossier on Dec 22, 2014 1:54:00 PM

While food and beverage facilities already have their own unique set of regulations when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation, the wine industry has an additional motivator: the purity of their wine. According to Emile Peynaud, “Cleanliness is a basic condition for quality. The whole of enological science would be to no avail if the work itself were done in places that were dirty.” Consistent quality routes from consistency in the beginning of the process.  You cannot have a consistently quality wine if your winery is not always clean. In addition to cleanliness, employees can affect consistency. One of the best way to retain employees is to care for them on the job. By making sure your facility is safe, you will experience increased employee retention.

ENC Fencing

Posted by Brittany Fossier on Nov 26, 2014 8:52:00 AM

Innovative uses for fiberglass reinforced plastics sometimes present themselves unexpectedly which was the case with our new Electrically Non-Conductive Fencing product.

As communities grow, the need for larger substations increases.  Traditionally, growing substations would require expanding the fenced-in area. Purchasing more land can be costly, and the availability can be limited. Also, grounding the fence is required for traditional materials which can be very expensive.  Because of these high costs and limitations, substation owners have started searching for an alternative way to fence substations.

Your Next Stair Tread Solution

Posted by Brittany Fossier on Nov 19, 2014 2:46:00 PM

Outdoor stairs require tedious maintenance and can be very expensive. There are a variety of different traditional materials to choose from including wood, metal, and concrete to use in stair application.

Hotels, apartment complexes, and various commercial properties struggle with the nature of these materials. Wood rots and splits. Metal becomes slippery and corrodes.  Concrete cracks and crumbles.  Plus, metal and concrete are heavier materials making delivery and installation an expensive, long process.

When Quality Is an Expectation

Posted by Brittany Fossier on Oct 30, 2014 2:20:00 PM

With products that are often used in high risk industries, quality is not a goal but an expectation. We insist on having the highest quality fiberglass reinforced plastic products. Even though building quality products may take us more time to manufacture, we insisted on instilling quality at every level of manufacturing.

Hurricane Resistant Dock and Lift???

Posted by Brittany Fossier on Oct 6, 2014 1:30:00 PM

Can you imagine a world in which decking products were able to withstand the surge of a hurricane? Seems impossible, though, right? Nope. Fibergrate Composite Structures has products that have done just that!

With the help of designer Foster McIntosh, Fibergrate materials were used in the Pineapple Bluff Dock and Lift in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco Bahamas. The goal for this project was to build a dock and boat lift that would provide recreational access to the Sea of Abaco.  In addition to recreational access, the boat and dock lift has been tested in Hurricane Irene, and was able to withstand storm surges to the structure.
